Anyone interested in this bank game?

Anyone interested in racking up 9 ball banks, breaking and taking ball in hand 5 times. If you make 5 without missing you win, if you don't, you lose.

In the past this game has been offered, accepted, won, and lost. Strong B players have beaten it and in the same sense strong A players have lost at it.

Throwing it out there for anyone who may be interested.

You would have to give some odds to make it an even bet. I doubt it's an even money bet for most players other then bank specialists.

I get ball in hand 5 times in a row and all I have to do is make 5 banks without missing??? I'd take that bet anytime.

That's right, you break a nine ball rack, get ball in hand 5 times in a row, if you miss one time without first making 5 banks you lose.

What will you bet?

OK, I get ball in hand after the break, then I have to bank 5 balls in a row. If I miss then I get to take ball in hand again and try again, or can I take ball in hand on each bank and win... im confused.

If I get to take ball in hand before each bank then yeah, this would be easy. Do they have to be shot in rotation or can I pick any ball to bank?

You break, get ball in hand, make a ball, get ball in hand again, make a ball, get ball in hand again.

Wow, first person said he needed odds, next 2 said it was easy. LOL.

Now you said 9 ball banks, do I have to run them in rotation or can I pick to bank any ball on the table?

9 ball banks can be made in any order. If you play a lot of one pocket you should be able to win at this.

Yeah, 1 pocket players should be good at this but I really cant see this being that hard at all.

Shot any ball on the table, take ball in hand before each shot and it must be banked. Just thinking about it doesnt seem that hard. Im gonna try it as soon as I get off work and get home.

Im gonna try to do it 2 racks in a row and get it on video, if I succeed I will post it here, if not, I will be happy to tell you it is a lot harder then it sounds.

However, as of right now without trying it yet, it doesnt sound to hard.

Well if you can make dead banks 90% of the time you should be able to win.

If you can make dead banks 90% of the time, your odds of making 5 dead banks in a row is 59%.

If your success rate is 85%, your odds of making 5 in a row drops to 44%.

Depends on what you want to bet?

Where you at? I may be interested in trying some. I don't play so good and I think i only made 2 banks in the last 6 months. But Hey, I like to gamble a little.
I did manage to make 42 cross side banks in a row one time. So I may be able to do this occasionally...... Sam

It's not a 50 50 bet for most players even good players. Let someone do it all day and they would be hard pressed to stay even much less get into your pocket. You would bust most players if they think they can beat that bet.

That doesn't seem that hard at all especially for one pocket and bank players. They should be able to do this in their sleep

I know my personal best in bank pool is 10 in a row, this is without ball in hand though...lol. We were playing 9-ball banks and I banked 5 and out and decided to try to finish the rack which I did to get to 7, then I broke, made a ball and ran 3 more. I guess that counts as 10 in a row. I would probably be loser on this bet without some major odds though.

I'd give it a try.. Seems like on my home table I never miss a bank, but I can't seem to hit them straight in.. :( (Pockets are tight)

I think in the end the game would probably beat me though, but it'd be close. 5 ball in hands with 5 banks? HHhhhmmmm..

That one guy that layed the odds out has me thinking now. He said if you can make a dead bank 90% of the time your chances of doing it 5 in a row drop to 59%. I know my odds are better than that if I set up a short bank in the side BUT we would be dealing with 9 balls on the table. Lets say at best you have 3 short banks(also assuming no other balls are in the way) That leaves two long banks(assuming no balls in the way)
Its starting to sound like I would have a tough time staying even with this bet. I could only miss 1 out of 10 to JUST stay even. I'm a good B player and now that I think about it I may not want this bet. I think I could beat it on a good day but....I'll try it and see what I come up with in the next day or so.

It would end up being all about where the balls land after the break. With certain table layouts, a good 1p or banks player would have at least 5 balls that are in positions where they can line up 90-95% bank shots, given ball in hand.

But every ball that's hanging right in front of a pocket, sitting right next to another ball, or only banks to one pocket and that pocket is blocked, means fewer shots to line up on. I would guess that a good deal of the time, the balls would fall in such a position that there aren't 5 of them "in the clear" where you can line up a really easy bank, even with ball in hand.
