Yes, I won, but it was mentally and physically draining. I shot well and got a few rolls to jump out 5-1. A couple of games later, I'm on the hill at 6-2.
Fast-forward another 30 minutes or so and it's hill-hill 6-6. I honestly don't remember shooting during those 4 racks. Maybe an odd kick here or there.
He ends up running the last rack down to the 8B and left himself dead straight on the short rail. He jawed the 8 trying to cheat the Diamond pocket a tad to get himself off the rail for the 9B. I was able to get out pretty easily after that, but I must say.....I've never felt more crushed after winning a match. A total emotional letdown, as I was on cruise control and it almost got away from me. After that I was helpless as a kitten in my next match.
Anyway, I wished I had asked Bill about his cue, as it looked pretty classy from several feet away.
I bought him a beer after the match, as he was a fine player and a good sport.
