Ive just never seen a pin like that and looking at it made me wonder how it would hit.

In my mind, I imagine, THUD.. After every hit ball. That or KaTink.. lol

I had the identical cue once. It slides together then locks with about about a 1/3 turn. It is the earliest version of a quick release joint I have seen. It wasn't a great player, but was usable.
