Hello, I am new to this site. My issue is a currently with Lucasi. I have a L-2000bj jumo and break cue. It is in mint condition after 3 years of play. However recently the uniloc joint on the shaft end has become loose. This causes the cue to continue twisting and never lock into place. thus rendering unplayable for the time being. I have tried and tried to find info for Lucasi but I have been unsuccessful. If anyone has a number or contact info so that i could go about getting the warranty replacement or repair that would be great. Thanks alot

Can't you just take some pliers and twist not pull the insert in the shaft out then glue it back in. Seems like an easy fix.

Here ya go.

Lucasi Hybrid Facebook Info

All I did was click on the advertisement for lucasi hybrids in the upper right corner. : )

As for the do it yourself solution, it's not always the best, I suppose in a pinch you could, however there are many reasons not too. Among them being, that the sleeve may not be centered correctly, may end up sticking out, or too far in, may not be straight etc. There will be glue left inside the shaft where the sleeve is that could interfere with proper insertion or the hole will be larger than the sleeve. The usual fix by a qualified Cue Maker would be to core out the hole left by the sleeve, insert a maple dowel sized to proper dimensions, and then center drill that, drill to proper depth, and core that out to the right dimensions. When a cuemaker inserts the sleeve, it's a tight fit, with no chance of misalignment. Plus they're using either a metal lathe or a custom made cue lathe, with accuracies exceeding .001 or a thousands of a inch. Most sleeves are made of brass, using pliers would likely damage that sleeve as well. I hope some of the more qualified cue makers chime in and correct any mistakes I might have made and give some input, since I'm still learning. Thanks, and good luck with that shaft.

A Uni-Loc QR insert is not a 'do it yourself' installation.
If you don't have a lathe and proper tooling, your chances of getting it right are next to zero.
How long have you continued to play with this cue once you noticed the insert was loose? The reason I ask is because this would determine if the hole needs to be plugged or not, before a re-install. Is the insert still 'snug' or is the hole 'wowwed-out'?

The Uni-Loc QR pin/insert set is one of the most precise sets ever conceived for a cue and as such, that precision is one of it's drawbacks. It's either done right or it's VERY wrong.

Take the shaft to a QUALIFIED CM or CTec and get it repaired. Do not play with it until you do. The cost of the repair (if it doesn't need to be plugged) will likely be close to the cost of shipping it back to Lucasi.
