Anyone know of Steve Knight?

Steve Knight was two years ahead of me in High School. I believe he moved to Tuscon in the early 70's. I ran into him at one of the Last Call for 9-Ball events in Atlantic City in 1984. At that time he said he was living in South Carolina. Found him, in Phoenix, at the Golden 8-Ball (I think that was the name) in 1989, Then played him in the Finals of a small tournament at Kolby's, in Tempe, in 1990. Saw him playing Scotch Doubles with Vivian Villareal on ESPN, in the early 90's. In 1993, Roger Griffis told me he was living in San Diego. The players at Tommy's, in Mesa, 1996, said they thought he was still in the San Diego area. Don't have any idea now. He was a very strong player, in my opinion, and from my hometown. Just curious if he has survived the years and if anyone knows any stories regarding him.
 
Sadly, Steve Knight passed a few years ago while living in Denver. I only met him once when he beat me in a tournament at Paradise. He was a fantastic player and from my impression, a great guy.

Did this guy live in Florida for a while?

I seem to recall that a great player was playing in the Miami area in the late 90s/early 2000's named Steve Knight. Knightrider was his pool room nickname I think.

There is a real good player named Steve Knight, but I think he is from the UK.
 
Yep that has to be the guy I saw play in Miami. He had an English accent. played JAMUP too
 
Awww, that's too bad. I know from early years, he had his demons. But, it looks like he managed to do what he liked best, his whole life, and that was shooting pool. He was actually on the swim team in high school. First string diver. Learned to play at Jax Pool Hall. God bless him and the memories that survive because of him.

Some one must have a good story regarding him.

The Steve Knight you are talking about did pass away a couple of years ago here in Denver...RIP Steve
A very good and very serious player, I used to talk to him at least once a week.
He played with a cocobolo Coker cue.
I did hear that many years ago he was a nationally ranked player and he always did quite well in the local tournaments here.

The Steve Knight from the UK is a current pro player.
