Did the camera quit after you shot the butt-cap or was that all you felt important ?
When you get it working again, try some pics of the rest of the cue, it may help.
Did you buy the cue here ? If so, what did the seller tell you ?

When you zoom in closer. I think you are correct Chris. Press the ctrl button and press the + key and it zooms in closer, in Internet Explorer, and It looks like Failes.
Was/is there a maker by the name of Chuck Failes ?
I've checked the Blue Book and the name doesn't come up.
That's not to say that a person with that name didn't make cues
but for whatever reason, the Book doesn't acknowledge it.
Another reason for the name and I've seen people do this,
is the name is that of a previous owner of the cue.
The date however makes this assumption a bit 'iffy'. I don't know.
If more pics were provided, a clue may lie therein.

There are at least 1000 small time cuemakers in the USA and only a fraction of them are in the Blue Book.
