Anyone know why the Poolhouse in Bellmore Long Island is closed?

I went there earlier today for practice and all the doors were locked. I then went on Facebook and the APA operator for Nassau County posted "Any teams scheduled to play at The Poolhouse this week need to contact me asap!" Hopefully it's temporary. I like to practice on my days off in the afternoon and there's only one other pool room in Nassau open during the daytime, The Hub in Island Park. (Not counting Dave & Busters, LOL) Raxx, Cue 9, and Baldwin are only open in the evenings. (I'm not sure if Mr Cue and Bayshore Billiards in Suffolk have daytime hours, but who wants to go to Suffolk anyway.
Of course I could take the LIRR and subway to Steinway!!

What a shame if it is closed. I used to practice there when I lived on Long Island. The owner, Richard Peck, was one of the best players I have ever seen play. I asked Tony Robles about him once. Tony said he had one of the best strokes in the world. He could play any game at a high level.

poolhouse

I heard they may be on bar rescue ,i hope
They didn't close . I stopped in to see
Richie last sept. , 1st time I've seen him
In 20 plus yrs n he hasn't changed he's
Still a character. If anyone hears anything
Please keep us posted . Thanks Gary.

Guys and dolls also went through a bar rescue, and haven't been the same since. Doesn't bode well for poolhouse if thats the case.

I know Richie Peck used to be partners with Tommy Brown at Cue Gardens in Daytona Beach 20+ years ago, then one night he literally cleaned the place out, tables, bar, etc. and skipped town owing Tommy a lot of money. Perhaps the same situation happened again?

Bellmore Pool Hall

I live 5 minutes from there. No word yet if it will re-open, but there is a possibility.

Yes, Bayshore Billiards has daytime hours. They open at 10AM 7 days a week as they have the billiard crowd from House Of Lords.

From their Facebook page:
"We apologize for the inconvenience but The Pool Hall will be temporarily closed until further notice. All events & leagues are cancelled. Be back soon ...."
