Anyone notice the quality of major brands of tips going down?

It's long been said that it's much harder to find a good triangle or lepro than it was decades ago...but layered tips seemed to largely fix the inconsistency. I recently bought a g2 soft and it was harder and worse quality than the g2 medium that I cut off to replace. I also bought a tiger sniper to put on a different shaft, a cynergy, after experimenting with various combinations, and it was hard as a rock...nothing like the many other snipers that I've tried over many years. It was amazing how much more resistant it was to sanding and shaping. I bought these tips from two different, reputable, authorized stores. I've personally installed by hand over 100 tips over the years for myself and others so it's not a newbie opinion. Is anyone else running into this issue lately?
I have been using the Bulletproof Recoil (green) tip, it's not leather, I have them on (3) different shafts, I love the consistency from tip to tip and the way they hold chalk, hold shape, and lack of tip maintenance, I usually practice an hour or more every day so my tips get a pretty good workout, even the hard tips(green) have great grip, BCA legal, highly recommended
