Anyone recognize this joint pin?

Does anyone recognize this joint pin? Is it unique to a specific cue maker? I can’t say I recall ever seeing a hollow joint pin.

Does anyone recognize this joint pin? Is it unique to a specific cue maker? I can’t say I recall ever seeing a hollow joint pin.

Do you know if the hole actually goes all the way through? Would be an interesting way to lighten up the mid section of the cue for weight and balance.

Both of these are 3-8-11. Blind holes that only go down a couple of mm.

That's why I asked if he knew the hole was all the way through, I have seen quite a few with basically a dimple at the top, but none that were actually hollow.

Just a thought but the hole is probably only deep enough to allow a center to be used when putting the cue in a lathe for rewraps or refinishing work.
