Anyone remember this match?

Early 90's, finals of a big tournament (Challenge of Champions?), Archer vs. Hall. Buddy makes a couple of tremendous stroke shots during the match, and beats Archer. I also remember a point in the match when Archer, with BIH, lines up a combo (2/9 I think) and misses it. I would love to have a copy of this match, but I don't think I even know enough details about it to begin a search. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I`m collection matches like that for a longer time and watching them from time to time.

Actually it's between Johnny Archer and Buddy Hall, but thanks a bunch for looking.

I noticed that you shoot with a Huebler. My office is only about 25 miles from where they are made, although I heard recently that they are going to stop making cues (again).

Yep, have actually met the man a couple of times, and my first decent cue was a Huebler; still have it.

My first decent cue was a Huebler as well but a friend of mine has it now...lol.

i only know Eurowest Custom Cue`s near Frankfurt.

Met them at Valley Forge last year, those guys are a trip! Nice people!

I'm definitely going to hold on to mine. I spoke with a lady the other day who had just purchased a new Huebler, and she said that the people at the factory told her that her's was to be one of the very last ones made. I don't know if this meant one of the last custom cues made or one of the very last, period. Either way, she won't have to worry about depreciation.

Yeah, I sold mine several years ago. It was pretty beat up from me letting people borrow it...lol. I still think about trying to buy it back from him every now and then.

My first decent one was a Huebler too, and I ended up shooting with a Huebler for over 20 years. I have owned 2-3 Hueblers, had a Huebler SP that I really liked, had 'Sara' for 19 years before somone stole her away from me ... lol

Oh man, that sucks. I've always thought that Huebler made one of the best sneakys out there.

I have this tape that you are talking about. Johnny Archer was up 1 set , and one game away from 50,000 (although I'm sure there was a saver involved). Buddy got a lucky roll, but then played flawless till the tiebreaker game, where he got lucky on a kick, and Archer sold out the game by trying a very long and difficult combination. What impressed me the most on this tape, was Hall's match vs. Davenport. I guarantee that you have never seen 6 unbelievable, and world class shots in a short race like that. Buddy is in dead punch, and his cue ball is amazing. Sorry I'm not letting go of the tape. Maybe I can give it to a friend so they can rip it on their computer. I can't remember if it is 1990, or 91, but McDermott Cues produced the video. You might be able to search that way.

Excellent, this sounds like it might be the match. My memory of it is very foggy (haven't seen it since it was on tv the first time), but I do remember Buddy making the cb do a couple of things that, at the time, I didn't even think were possible. Thanks a bunch for your help.
