Does anyone have comments on the reliability of the video feed?

Watching the PTC - 4, especially on Sunday, suffered from freezes. But the problems seemed to be general on the web feeds I tried, so I don't know if the soruce of the problem was the original video or with the sites putting it on the web.

The liveworldsnooker.tv. web site is now carrying this message:

"Live events will be back soon

There are currently no live events scheduled to be shown on this channel in the next 14 days.

Due to licensing rights, we cannot guarantee that live events will be shown until at least 7 days before they are due to be played.
"

So, one assumes, the Premier League on September 1 will not be on liveworldsnooker.tv.

The rates being quoted are higher for North America than for the UK and Europe, and gave the impression that the really good stuff, such as the World Championship etc would be available to us even if it wouldn't be available on liveworldsnooker.tv in Europe.

What Can I Watch and Where Can I Watch It?

All 14 Players Tour Championship and 8 Qualifying events are available to view Worldwide throughout the year. These events marked in Green and Blue in the Calendar

The 9 ranking and 21 invitational events are subject to broadcasting restrictions which will be announced closer to the individual tourment start dates. These are marked as Red and Black.

I wouldn't mind paying the price for a reliable feed, provided I got the full calendar. So far, that isn't being promised. :frown:

Seems to me that this thing hasn't been particularly well executed.

I signed up for it. I got sick of searching for feeds every tournament which may or may not be very good quality. It's only $6 a month.

From what I understand, Europeans can't watch ranking events since Eurosport for example has the broadcasting rights there, so we play a little extra for the added content.

Don't worry about the no scheduled events thingy, they said that before PTC3 right up to the day before, same with the Paul Hunter classic.

I don't think we will see the premiere league, I believe everything that is being broadcasted are WPBSA tournaments, which I don't believe the Premier League is, it's a matchroom event. We have to rely on the WPBSA calender I guess for tournaments.

The feed on it is very reliable, I haven't had any glitches or freezing that wasn't my own computers fault. It's not HD quality picture, but it's reasonable. It just sucks I can't get it work on my PS3 browser and watch it on my tv.

I also signed up a few weeks ago. Agreed with Cameron re: reliability and quality. It works just fine. Nothing outstanding but similar quality than the free feeds, and good enough to watch it in the living room on the LCD TV in full screen mode (it's only snooker after all).

In my case the free feeds worked fine too (thanks for all your comprehensive listings by the way!). I was just sick of all the ads for stuff I don't care about.

I only had a few minor issues at the beginning b/c of broadcasting rights -- I'd get kicked out of the site due to "geographical restrictions". It shouldn't happen, but it did a few times while connecting from both US and Canada. Seemed to be fixed by the end of the PTC4 though.

Hoping they will enhance the site in the [near] future, like adding streams of previously recorded matches (for now it's only live). Also, if multiple feeds are available for a given tournament (i.e., multiple matches) not even sure if they're all available or if only one is (unclear from the doc on the site).

Hope that helps.

They really need to have recorded streams going. It's a worldwide service and if the Shanghai Open is streamed, there is no way I'll be able to watch it because like most people, I work. They should have a delay for people in different timezones so we can watch the matches at reasonable times, or perhaps the option at least.
