Anyone Use A Rhino Carbon Fiber Shaft?

I need a replacement 5/16" x 18 shaft for one of my spare cues. I can spend $85 delivered for a Maple shaft from Schmelke or $200 delivered for a Rhino carbon fiber which I can put on my Schmelke playing cue (and stick that shaft on my spare) and see how I like carbon fiber. Seems like a good way to try a CF shaft since the next cheapest is around $350.

Is Rhino any good? Is this a bad idea? I only see one mention of it here (and that was positive). Anyone else try it?

Lastly, it comes with a "8 Layered High-Performance F1 Crystal Cue Tip" with no hardness rating listed on the site. I can't find any info. on this tip or the hardness. Anyone have experience with this tip?

Lol.. It is the "Saga of BloodNinja", which harkens back to the earlier days of the internet.... 1996-1997 or so. Guy was going to into chatrooms and pretending he wanted to cybersex with the ladies... And then he would do this....... There like 15-20 of these out there. OP put it right across the plate with the "Is Rhino any good?" I couldn't resist myself.... :-D

It’s one of them you get what you pay for. You’re paying a cheap price for an unknown branded shaft. I’m expecting crap.

if it’s not on any of the major pool sites it’s probably junk

Three guys at my spot have them. All 30" and look to very well made. Play as good as any other from what i can tell. Far from junk i can tell you that.
 
I just found they sell them on Amazon. Not where I'd normally shop for cues but Amazon is offering a $200 gift certificate if you sign up for an Amazon Business Credit Card. That gets the cost down to $19. Tempting.

not even close to being junk. i love it when people trash a product without seeing it or using it. making a quality cf shaft is not rocket science. most sellers all do the same thing: they buy tubes and then complete them. absolutely no reason these shafts should sell for 400+ but apparently there's a long line of suckers willing to do so.

Yeah, that's the issue. I've only been playing a few months and never with a CF cue, I'm not really qualified to review anything yet. That's why I asked here. This all started because I needed a new shaft for a spare cue (see the original post). For $19 I saved about $65 and now have a carbon fiber shaft!

I'll make sure it's straight, look for defects, post pictures and do my best to report back.

Don't buy it if you want a quality carbon shaft go with cuetec can't beat the price the rhino shafts are mainly warped and I broke one of them never again.buy cuetec they have the cheapest carbon shaft on the market

i've only seen three so far but all are dead straight and play great. you said you broke one. how? just playing it? i find that almost impossible to believe. not everyone is gonna whip $400 for a cf shaft.

Yeah, I looked. I'm not spending $400. Pool Artist claimed it was the cheapest carbon shaft on the market. I was hoping he had a vendor I hadn't looked at yet. I'd go with a Schmelke Ricochet at $340 if I was going to spend that kind of money.
