Who wants to win on technicalities? It wasn't in a tournament or anything, but I gave a match to another (new) player who forgot to mark his pocket. If the guy would have made a bullshit bank or some 3 rail shot, then I would have called it, but there was only one pocket that he could have shot into and he made the shot. He beat me. Congratulations and move on. I am also the team captain.
You know, I could go to the store and buy a blue ribbon, but it wouldn't mean anything to me. When I was in the service, I could have gone to the MCS or the PX and bought a bunch of ribbons, and who would have known the difference? No one, but me.
If I was the captain, I would have told you to pick another player if it was a tournament or if my team was in "contention" for the playoffs. If it didn't matter or if it was very early in the session, then I probably wouldn't care too much about the opposing team going a point over skill cap. And FYI, our team is consistently in the top four at the end of the session and we've made the LTC a few times, but we've never qualified for Vegas.
