.....> Aramith Ball Set -- FREE (Almost) <.....

Count me in.. It would be a miracle if I was picked though. Drawings don't seem to like me much..

Count me in, please (I'll be in NY at that time visiting my parents and if I happen to win they can be shipped there- shipping overseas will not be an issue;) ).

I would like to have my name in the drawing so i could finally have a clean set to play with, very generous offer and giood luck to all. --Leonard

I'm in Japan so I'll bow out of this but thought I would mention that you could ship them with the shipping being COD, can't you? That way no money would have to change hands and there would be no mistakes on how much it cost to ship them. The receiver pays the shipping when it arrives. We use that a lot here in Japan.

Mullyman -- Thanks for the suggestion about using COD. I'll look into it. Another possibility is giving the winner the choice of COD versus repaying me. Either way there will be no problem with the amount -- it will be exactly what the shipping cost was. Thanks.

Put me in

If you'll pay the shipping, I'll give you these balls (no, I'm not Kevin Trudeau).

When I bought a pool table years ago, I also got an accessory package. These were the balls in that package. I used them for a while and then upgraded to more expensive balls. These have been sitting idle in a drawer for years.

These are NOT Super Aramith Pro balls, they are a lower quality level -- probably more like today's Aramith Premier line. The price marked on the top of the box by the dealer from whom I bought the pool table is $95. The balls are in excellent condition. In terms of specifications, they all weigh within one gram of 159 grams. (The rules require 5.5 to 6.0 oz., or about 156 to 170 grams.) The diameters are a bit shy of the rules spec. They range from 2.220" to 2.236", whereas the rules require 2.245" to 2.255".

I'm hoping someone will have a use for them -- perhaps someone new to the game, or someone who could use a second set for the kids to bang around after school, or someone who knows of a club or center in need of a set. I would just ask you not to take them from me and then turn around and sell them.

As for shiping costs, I went to the post office and checked on parcel post rates. The cost would be somewhere in the range of $7 to $13, depending on your distance from me (Massachusetts). But I'll use whatever shipping method you want. However, because of shipping costs, let's limit this to the continental U.S. Once you receive the balls and note the exact shipping costs, you can then reimburse me (no PayPal).

I don't consider first-come-first-gets-them fair, so I'll give it a week. Anyone who is interested, let me know by May 23. I'll put the names in a hat (or, more likely, a bag) and draw one out. Thanks.

P.S. I'd also like to exclude people who would cut them up for ferrules, joint protectors, clocks, etc. I'd like someone to have them who will use them for playing pool.

Thanks,

Ray

I could use them

Hi,

I go to college where we have balls in horrible condition. Many are chipped and the balls are dirty and worn. Many of the balls are different sizes/weights. For example, we have a cue ball that is so heavy that it is almost impossible to draw it across a 7' table. Another ball is made of such cheap material that chunks of it flew off when I broke with my phenolic break cue once. So basically I could really use these balls.

Thanks!
