Aramith Duramith balls getting dirty quicker than others?

Brunswick Manhattan but rails were replaced years ago w/ Adler rails. Have #6 pockets now, black leather wrapped irons and I think I treated the leather about 6 months ago.(That could causing the black marks). Simonis 860 cloth, Silver Cup chalk, Rhino F1 Crystal Cue Tip.

I've been using Aramith Ball Restorer. I have the Aramith Ball Cleaner but have not used that yet. When I clean, I use a lot more than 2 drops. (That may be an issue). Maybe I should be using the cleaner instead.

Thanks, it seems like the issues may be too much cleaner, possible using Restorer instead of Cleaner, the pocket liners, miscuing and of course, the red cloth!
You are using waaaay too much of the wrong stuff. Takes rexus's advice and use a 90%alcohol/aramithcleaner mix. it only takes a little bit. the restorer is for balls that are filthy and haven't been cleaned in a while. nothing wrong with the balls. also, leave those pockets alone. anything u put on them will end up on the balls. lastly: get rid of that red cloth. unless its going in an old-west whorehouse it has no place in pool. ;)

Thanks. What do I do at this point about the excess Restorer on the balls? Should I just let it wear off? I buffed them pretty well, I'm not sure doing that again will help.

* Just went and buffed all with a clean, cotton rag. Didn't clean up much but they definitely got slicker as I buffed. Gotta be residual Restorer coming off.

I would guess that you've ruined the Duramith coating. Didn't you notice how abrasive the Ball Restorer was when you were using it?

Here's what the Ball Restorer is for, i.e. when you need to sand about a 1/4 inch off the surface:

The problem isn't the Restorer on the balls, it's the surface of the balls that you sanded off with the Restorer. If you want to remove any residual cleaner, use some 90% Isopropyl alcohol; or just play with the balls for a few hours.

AGAIN, there is NO Duramith 'coating'. Don't know where people hear this shit. Duramith is a resin/curing process that yields a much harder surface. There is nothing applied to the ball surface after final polishing.

We all read the same stuff, it's not like you have any special knowledge of what Duramith is. If you can sand it off, then that's good enough to call it a coating for me.

I know EXACTLY what it is because Aramith themselves told me so. There is NO coating on any pool balls. The various aramith balls like SuperAramithPro, Tournament, etc. all use specific resins and curing processes. Duramith is their latest and greatest but it is not a coating. In any way. The surface you see on balls is achieved by a multi-step sanding/polishing process, not some coating. BTW, Dynasphere balls as well as Centennials(Aramith SAP) and Predator ARCOS(same) are all made the same way. Final step is the sanding/polishing then into the box.

How many wars have you ended?

From Aramith:

"With the Duramith Technology, the Aramith resins entered their 4th generation. With a totally overhauled resin formulation with new hi-tech reticulation, cross-linking and curing technologies, the Aramith products now set a new benchmark in quality, durability & longevity, increasing their service life up to 50%"

Doesn't sound like a coating to me.

The Restorer does have a light grit, just like car polish. It's Aramith Restorer. I'm pretty sure if it wasn't meant to be used with Aramith, Duramith balls, Aramith would be have a warning somewhere.

Both Restorer and Cleaner are made for ALL their balls. Duramith just yields a harder, longer lasting, cleaner surface. NO coating involved.

That 8 ball - I found the exact same recommendation you did for cleaning balls. My first set that came with the table ended up looking like that after their warm Palmolive bath. That's why I have Restorer! Worked great, the balls looked like new after that.

After that just use the alcohol/Cleaner mix. Restorer is for REALLY dirty, neglected balls.

Duramith is NOT a coating. Its a different resin mix/curing process that yields a harder surface. The only measel cb that is D'mith is the black dot Tournament ball. The red ones are SAP resin mix. Yellowing has nothing to with Duramith.
I’ve got two red measle balls. One came with the TV Tounament set and the other is Arimith Super Pro. One is white the other is yellowish. My Black durimith measle ball is yellowish.

Thanks. I see I got carried away! It worked well once and I started using it all the time. I even have a container of the Aramith Cleaner, I just didn't think to use it.
Is that alcohol / Cleaner mix something that's on the label or just a preferred method of cleaning?

I hear that a lot about Diamond pockets. I'm fortunate in that I have yet to notice any pocket ball marks in the 5 years that I have had my Professional. I'm not sure if it matters, but I did, within weeks after getting my table, slip some 1/8" craft foam behind the pocket liners to help deaden the sound. I have never cleaned them, just vacuumed out the inside for dust.
I got tons of black marks on the balls. I applied mink oil weekly for about 2 months and they no longer leave black marks.

It's what players came up with, Aramith wants you to use 10 drops on each ball so they sell more product. That mix works great. Get a spray bottle on amazon (or wherever) and you can shake it then mist the balls. It works really well.

The ratio is 20% of "90% Isopropyl alcohol" and 80% Aramith Cleaner,
Basically 1 part alcohol to 4 parts cleaner, correct?

And use very little.
