Does anyone know the difference between the green logo and purple logo cue balls?
The product description from Seyberts says the green is for coin op, and the purple is for Valley coin op. The Saluc website was no help. Couldn't find the purple one on the site at all.

The purple cougar is the from the Valley logo. These are now standard issue with all new Valley tables. So they appear to be the same, just a marketing ploy.

Here is the Bottom Line on these Cue Balls,

The Green is the old style for the magnetic tripped coin-op tables, made by aramith using the OLD Tournament style Phenolic Blending Process.

The NEW PURPLE- is for the Magnetic Coin-op tables but this is the NEWEST--Aramith 'DURAMITH' technology of Phenolic Blend, this is the Newest/Baddest CueBall if you need to have the cue-ball cycled by the use of a magnetic trigger/process.

Hope this helps out and the Purple Stays Cleaner, longer and has less -skidding and Clinging--, If you can Locate the Purple Label CueBall, the extra monies is worth the extra dollars, especially in the long run.

Hmmm. Two different answers. I was assuming they were the same ball with different color logos. I aasumed that based on they have the same MSRP, and Seyberts is selling both for $19.09.

My research, some months back, came to the same findings. Duramith v standard aramith phenolic resin.

Ok. Better. Sounds like an ok deal. Sould make a great lague ball. I likeed the green logo just fine.
It was on all the tables during the '08 team championships.

Why the lack of info on the Aramith website? Or is it
I just overlooked it?

I bought two of the perfect roll purple logo balls for our league play and they play close to the measles ball with no off center like the old valley balls.

They are not the same. They have different colored logos so that you can tell which is which. The purple is the more advanced design.

Please be aware that not all tables will work with this ball. Many of the older tables won't work without modifications of the return system.

They are definitely different. At APA Masters every year there are sometimes some green logo balls on some of the tables.

The purple ball is clearly superior in every way. Much more resistant to pitting and dings in the surface, stays cleaner, and spins more realistically. The green logo ball feels like it is weighted more in the perimeter. It takes slightly more energy to get it spinning but then it seems to want to keep spinning moreso than the purple one. So those short draw shots are tough with the green one, and a little more natural with the purple.

Given the choice, the purple is the superior ball in all ways.
