Are lefty pool players really that uncommon? What's so special about them?

Lol

A subject near and dear to my heart ... lol I was left handed until I was 3, and then my Dad switched me over to right handed because baseball was kind of our family sport, and left handed baseball gloves were rare when I grew up. I can still do many things left handed.

I have developed a theory regarding left handers in my 51 years of playing, and I think it goes back to having 1 less rib on the left side. Most of the good left handers I have played all seem to have kind of a natural smooth stroke, plus by bridging with the right hand, that extra rib on the right side is stretched out sort of, and be less inclined to have hitches. Anyway, that's my theory, and I am sticking to it ... lol

I am all fouled up. I write and throw a ball RH, but I play golf or swing a bat Lefty and play pool RH. But when I box or hit the bag my left is nearly as strong as my right hand. But if I try to shoot pool lefty its like watching a monkey try to f@$% a football

I'm a right hand dominate writer and gun shooter - but a left handed pool shooter. This all goes back to when I first picked up a stick around age 10. I looked at a friend and setup my shot as a mirror image. Been a lefty shooter ever since.

I have been working on playing right handed, but the technical knowledge does not translate to opposite handed shooting. It will take another couple hundred thousand stroked to even get close to dialing that in.

When teaching brand new students, I have them play and practice with both sides.
