Are you any good at pool?

Don't you just love when random people(non-pool players) ask if you're good at pool?

I have no clue how to answer this question. I always have some long drawn out response such as:

"Am I any good?!?, hmmm...well, I can usually beat anybody I randomly play at the bar. And I can hang with the best league players. But most heavy gamblers or tournament players will consistently beat me. But no, I don't think I'm very good"

How do you guys answer this question?
 
If there is a pool table nearby the answer should always be "no, wanna play a cheap game?"

I always answer with no, because I'm not, but that I love the game and play it fairly regularly.
 
My reply is always: I am good enough to know how bad I really am... Most people are so terrible they have no idea how bad they actually are..
 
I always tell them that I seldom have underwear on while I'm playing One Pocket, but when I do it's usually something brief and in a black mesh.
That usually stops them in their tracks and we start talking about something else. :smile:
 
I am pretty quick to say that I don't play very well, but I enjoy the challenge
 
I usually say, "No I'm terrible. But a really good player told me once that gambling makes you better. We should try it and we will both get better!" ;)

It really depends on who asks. Generally the answer is "no," and then the next answer is no I don't want to play right now. If the guy is a punk and trying to impress his buddies and is on my last nerve the response is something smart-assed, "Your girlfriend thought I was pretty good last night, oh, you said pool...nope, I'm awful"
Hot girl, I don't know, one has never asked me. But regardless, I never let myself get roped or goaded into playing, I will very, very rarely play a random challenger like the one that might ask that question
 
Some of you are missing the point of my question. I said that the person asking the question is not a pool player. I'm not talking about a scenario where you are at the pool hall and someone is looking for a match. I'm talking about a scenario where you are out at a picnic and you bring up that you are going to your pool league later. Then a distant relative or friend says "o you're a pool player, u any good?" With no intention of ever playing you.
