I am just curious how many people that read/post on here are Active Duty/Retired Military? Would you (Active Duty) like to see a DoD 9-Ball Tour around the US? Maybe about 6 different locations thru out the US?

Hey, Zim. Have you ever been stationed in 29 Palms MCAGCC and have you played against a lefty corpsman by the name of Scott Richardson?

Ed Reyes<was from 29 Palms

No! I have been stationed at Spangdahlem Germany, Al Jaber Kuwait, PSAB Saudi Arabia and TDY to Lakenheath and Mildenhall England and am now at Osan Korea! I am moving to Scott AFB in Illinois this December with my wife and son.

Fast Larry- Thanks for all of the support you have given our troops over the years. You say you are willing to travel anywhere to show support, what about South Korea? Have you ever been there? Interested? I could arrange a spectacular show for you this year. I am getting ready to plan a 9-Ball Open Tournament in October and will be open to all US Military in South Korea and think it would be great if I could get some "Pros" to pay a visit during that time. What do you think?

Fast Larry- I'll get on this event right away and plan to start the advertising in July sometime. There are thousands of troops over here (obviously not all pool players) and I'm sure we will have a good turnout for this tournament. I run weekly 8 and 9-ball tournamnents here on base and an8-ball league that last 7 weeks per session. I usually get about 25-30 players enter each tournament. We play with modified BCA rules in all pool events on Osan Air Base. Thanks again for your support and if you know anyone else in the "business" that would be willing to make an appearance here, please let me know or have then contact me vial email michael@zimsrack.com if they are interested.
Thanks,

Zim

Hey Zim,
Just thought I would drop a line and say that the Air Force is where I started to play pool seriously. Prior to that, I thought I knew what I was doing but quickly realized I had no clue when I saw what the A and B players could do. Nice to hear you will be coming home soon. Nothing like the good ole USA. One of my best friends is in Germany right now and is coming back to Texas to be an instructor.

Fast Larry, I have to say that is truly great of you to offer your services for free to our fighting men and women. It's nice to read things like this.

Best Regards,
Dave

I'm in the Air Force stationed in D.C. A guy I used to play pool with when I was 17 was the one who convinced me to join the Air Force. Best decision I ever made. Thanks for the support Fast Larry.

It's great to hear that there is so much support for our troops and how many of you are former/currently Active Duty. I will be in the Air Force for 16 more years and plan to do many promotional tournaments/exhibitions to promote our sport to everyone.
Matt- How long have you been in the AF?
I hope that we can put Billiards in the spotlight and get the recognition that our sport deserves. It takes a lot of skill to be successful as an artist with the cue and should be noticed and supported as much as any other sport.
Thanks again to all and keep up the support in the Armed Forces!

Zim - I'm a Staff Sergeant stationed in D.C. and I've been in just over 5 years.

Hey Zim,
I'm stationed in Groton CT. on the sub base. I would be very happy to see some type of DoD league or tourney. Didn't they use to have a tourney back in the day? New england it a pretty good place to play. I'm a regular on the "Killer B" tour and play as many of the Joss events as possible. Have fun in Illinois and if you get something going along the line of a tourney post it here. I'll get the leave and be there.

Mike

Sounds good mbkpool...I'm going to do what I can and what the DoD is willing to do. I don't think they have the tournaments anymore. Cross your fingers!!

To Fast Larry and Zim

:) Zim: It's great that you're running 8 and 9 ball tournaments at your base. It's great entertainment and competition. I'm retired Navy ('89). I used to run the pool hall when I was stationed in Keflavik, Iceland in the mid 70's. I used to play in a lot of base tournaments. It's great fun and keeps the troops occupied.

Fast Larry: I have much admiration for folks like you supporting the military community. I'm sure the troops will enjoy your show. I wish I have heard of you when I was still active mil. I sure would have booked you. Keep up the good work and give my best to Wonder Dog...

Angelo
