What sort of cue hit do you desire? if you don't know how they play- why are you looking at obtaining one of his cues- purely on how it looks? That is fine, of course, but if you want it as a player, it is really hard for someone to tell you what you, yourself, will experience. For instance, people rave about Scruggs, on that basis I tried two Scruggs cues, I did not like how they played- too stiff for me- sold them both.
I am not trying to be a wise guy- but in 30+ years of cue collecting and playing with many, many different cues- I have found that no one's opinion on how a cue plays actually relates to my own experience playing with a cue - it is much too personal of a feeling when you handle a cue in real time.
That all being said, I have played with an Art Cantando- SS joint- I personally think that it is an old school hit- kind of stiff, very solid, good feedback through to your grip hand, the quality is there in the construction- no doubt. You may love it, you may hate it, you may end of thinking that it is just OK. Only you will decide in the final analysis- that is the true reality of cues, IMO- when talking about the "hit"
However, you may love the look of the cue so much that just an OK hit to you is more than acceptable- I have done that a few times as well and kept those cues.
