here is an article about the trend of able bodied people using scooters instead of walking. I saw alot of this at bca. the pool tourney even got a little mention at the end. of course it was pool players using them.

I thought it was goofy seeing pool players without a disability using them. but you do put a few miles on your feet.
 
My favorite was the sign they put up in the tourney room:

"No Scooters Allowed In Tournament Room Unless It Is Apparent You Need One"

Those things were a bit of a nuisance at times. I found myself wanting to waive my fist and shout, "watch where you're going ya darned punks!".

At the same time, I could have used one as my feet were blistered by the end of day 1. If I go back again, I'm getting one. That's what you're supposed to do in Vegas: indulge!

Did those guys ever finish their bet on how long it could be ridden on 2 wheels? I heard the dude noticed his battery was low and they decided to postpone until after a recharge. Man, I missed all the hilarious stuff. LOL.
 
Oh man guys were going nuts on them last year. One night about midnight or so some of our friends came to the booth with a couple and I was a little toasted. So I tried to drive one and ran into the pool table, the chairs, people.....it was hilarious. But they were kind of obnoxious about them.

One year we gave away one of those mini-motorcycles as a raffle prize. We drove that up and down the hall until security stopped us. I even drove it on Las Vegas Blvd for as far as I dared to. It was pretty cool, had a little Harley look too it and we adorned it with all kinds of stickers like "The Rocket" Rodney Morris' signature.

Now I hear that they are going to be building inddor parking lots for Scooters and have valets in Vegas for them. :-) JK
