Article about SVB in local paper

And another thing, do you just blindly take Danny's word for it? I'd bet he was on the hustle back then. I've seen him matching up in the 1990's at the Billiards Palace. Trust me he was a hustler back then. What makes you think he wasn't trying to hustle on this road trip? I'm sure he wasn't on the road trying to play the toughest action.

I don't have any problem with Danny other than getting all wrapped around the axle about them not telling the whole story. Who cares, the abbreviated story sounds much better..

Sorry PT, nice try, but you are out of line. Danny called Mr5994 a yahoo for "writing" the story. As you confirmed Mr5994 did NOT write the story, he simply posted a link and the text. Therefore Danny owes the apology..

Yeah, Danny gets a little tense...
..but when he recovered and read the thread about himself...
...he said he realized that AZ was another family for him.
I don't want him to forget that...so I stuck up for him.
....'cause there was more to the story.

And I would be disappointed if he had never hustled...
....it's the same thing as a poker player mis-representing his hand...
....comes with the territory

I don't mind Mr Harriman putting the record straight...
Paul Harvey made a living telling us 'the rest of the story'..

There WAS a sin of omission involved, which is very forgivable, but I
think Danny was quite justified in telling his side...

The article was written by Tom Savage for Argus....
...and it would be good of the OP to acknowledge.

I think the only apology needed here is from you, Hung....
...the OP is Mr5994, not 5995.
Call a man by his right name!
:)

My apology to Mr5994, the fellow that made a pool cue for me once in Joplin, MO showed me an article that the IPT did regarding the match in question between Van Boening and myself. I would also like to know if Tom wrote the IPT cause after Shane ran the set out I did not just get into my car and drive back to MO - which is what the article stated. You just ask Shane who pulled up on the second day - I trust he is honest. There will always be some political puppet who wants to put his biased spin on the truth, I don't let it stress me but I see there agenda. Shane is a great player and I would not play him even ten ball on my own $ in a long race. I do find it funny how people like hungarian call a story that is misleading - the abbreviated version.

My apology to Mr5994, the fellow that made a pool cue for me once in Joplin, MO showed me an article that the IPT did regarding the match in question between Van Boening and myself. I would also like to know if Tom wrote that particular IPT article cause after Shane ran the set out I did not just get into my car and drive back to MO - which is what the article stated. I did however get a motel room and the next day found a different room with slow cloth (like I grew up on) and played him again the second day and won the cash. You just ask Shane who pulled up on the second day - I trust he is honest. There will always be some political puppet who wants to put his biased spin on the truth. The truth will always sound better to me over the 'abbreviated' version, I don't let it stress me but I see there agenda. Shane is a great player and I would not play him even ten ball on my own $ in a long race. I do find it funny how people like hungarian call a story that is misleading - the abbreviated version. I was not hustling on that trip and had not worked the road in yrs. Anyone that wants to can ask Shane if we did compete twice and on the second day if he was the one who quit - can. The IPT article did state that he defeated me and sent me packing, maybe Tom Savage knew the truth and felt that was a bit harsh I don't know. I just prefer the un abbreviated version. If I write story yall' can bet the farm it was savagely' factual and not tom-but george.

I wonder how there relationship is today?

and I recently watched their action match at DCC from few years ago where SVB gave up the 8 playing 10 ball
i wish SVB still got in the grease like he used too

i know he is more concerened with winning major championships but those days were fun

henney/pinney was movin an groovin on lil raf martinez in MEM several yrs ago ( i think he thought he could do so with impunity because some feel that mempho is part of the great state of Tn) and that the locals would back him if shit started. Well, lil raffy almost drove the BUTT of his cue through henney's chest at which time the owner of the joint told henney to quit starting shit.

raffy won the match

sometimes things just don't work out..

that said, when henney isn't playing pool he's a polite, fine young gentleman, as far as i know

now raffa is a big action player and gent as far as ive seen

i wonder how henny and svbs relationship is today
