Many years ago I did a booklet that illustrated the Artistic Billiards shots at that time. It's available as a PDF at http://www.sfbilliards.com/Misc/ArtisticBilliards1987.pdf

Note that the shots have changed both in number and content since that time. One factor was that phenolic balls replaced ivory which made some shots harder and some shots easier. The tournament format also changed to one-on-one matches with only part of the shots used in each match.
 
Thanks Bob! It is hard to find documentation on Artistic Billiards with this detail. Not just from the past, but also the present system is lacking this kind of detail.

Treasures like these are always very welcome, keep 'em coming.

ok , then here are 3 up to date files you could need :

1- the complete 100 figures official artistic program , by set (from set A to set T )

2- the official table template , how to trace a table to play the official program (precious!) :

under each figure , you find the 3 numbers necessary to trace the cloth (ball1 , ball 2 and ball 3 ) for righty and lefties .

note than "gaucher" means "left handed", "droitier" means "right-handed"

P : thanks for your booklet , Bob ! remembrance of the old good time, when ivory was the norm for this discipline.

Thanks. If the CEB drawings are ever redone, they should pay attention to the excellent accuracy of the drawings in the other two PDFs. The CEB drawings are in the old style which has little to do with the actual ball path.
 
Taking a look at the PDF it dawns on me that you really mean billiards (e.g. no pockets). I've seen pocket billiards trick shots on TV, but was there/is there an equivalent Artistic pocket billiards book? Curious about the history. I know some of the trick shot players have books, but have not gotten any of them yet. I like to occasionally try some of the shots for practice and as parlor tricks.

I also dont have ready access to a billiards table but like to try billiards shots that can be done on a pocket table just to learn a bit more about billiards.

Yes. The original program was developed about 1995 if I had to guess. It had input from various pool trick shot players and authors such as Mike Massey and Bob Byrne. It was accepted about that time as an official WPA discipline. Tom Rossman was one of the original organizers, I believe. At that time the shots were mostly all skill/stroke shots without props.

Maybe I'll have better luck with the on-line version....I almost broke my arm with the
printed one. :embarrassed2:
I can draw the length of the table from 11 feet away on a 6x12 but I didn't seem to have
the power on some of your shots.
