Asia is on Barry's Radar Screen

Mosconi cup will continue. USA will win again. The winning team travelling to take on an Asia team would be great. It would be far bigger in Asia than the King's Cup (a pseudo exhibition match). The best in Asia playing the Mosconi Cup winners? No brainer.

What about this format:

4 regions:

Europe
North America
Asia ex-China
China & Tapei

You could have The Mosconi Cup as one semi-final, the Asian matchup could be the other semi final (both held in December to stick with tradition), then the winners playing each other in June!

Or you could have the matches closer together.

Oh and to keep people happy...the home side chooses the table ;-)

Why do Europe and Asia get entire continents to form a team and we only get a country?

We can beat Africa!!!!!

Sorry.

Allowing North America into this little circle-jerk would open the door for John Morra, Alex P and many more.

But - let's make it a race to at-least 9 so we can find out who can REALLY play - not who the best lagger is. (Yeah - I know it's good for TV, but one bad rolls shouldn't determine an entire set.)

So we've been getting bad rolls for the last 7 years, huh?

Laughable.

It was Europe Vs the US because at the time that made sense, it was very clearly based on the Ryder Cup (which is of course still very successful with the same format).

Not that I can see any harm changing it to North America, I'm sure if Matchroom feels it makes sense they will do it.

However, races to 9 will never happen, it wouldn't fit in with the TV schedules.

Listen up Barber-lover.....

Overall Match score is..... I believe 127 - 127... or something very close.

We all know that you're a pool-god and have never been down 7 games but - if you don't know that 1 bad roll in a race to 5, alternate breaks, can and does determine the entire set, when you're playing against the best in the world.... then you don't know much about pool... and you're just another troll hiding behind a
fake name.

If the overall match score is close surely it re-enforces the view that the contest is fair?

229-228 in favor of Europe.

If we look at the overall match score during each side's biggest run.

USA (1996-2001) Overall match score 77-47 (61%)
Europe (2010-) Overall match score 77-41 (65%)

Now during the US' run, first year was a race to 15, then 2 years to 13, and 3 years to 12. If we change those to races to 11, you would get

66-47 (58%)
