Asian 9-Ball Update: I'm disappointed at Wu...

The matches between Efren and Yang are always very high quality, but it's a pity they met too early this leg. It's a damn shame Yang is always unluckier than his opponents this year.

He did play Yang in the finals allright...... but not Yang Chin Shun its Ricky Yang...lol

After watching some of the matches with Taiwanese or Chinese players, I noticed that they have a weak "cutting" game. They have a very sound kicking game and ball control, but for some reason it looks as if their shot is not a "sure" ball when the ball has to be cut thin.

This year Filipinos won all the leg of SMB Tour. Taiwanese are on the hunt but always come short.

OT....a query ....how would the Pool body rate(seed) a player like in Golf or Tennis?
Do they have this tournaments like US Open( for pool) or World Pool Champinoship that if if you place good they give you a good ranking?

I was thinking how come Reyes placed 4th seed while he always come up every year to be the #1 money maker?

Everybody has bad days. Wu is just a kid. He is a brilliant player and as long as he continues to play he will be a threat to win any match against any player he faces. As a fan it sucks to see a player you like have a bad day when there aren't that many opportunities to see them play. I hate seeing my friend Rodney make simple mistakes. I hate seeing Kelly make mistakes on TV that she wouldn't miss in a million years otherwise. It's just pressure and life.

As far as World Pool Championship (WPC) is concern, it is based on World Pool-Billiards Association (WPA). http://www.wpa-pool.com/

The WPA is the main governing body who divides the world into six continents: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America who has their own governing body for the Billiards/Pool discipline.

AAPA - All Africa Pool Association
APBU - Asian Pocket Billiard Union
BCA - Billiard Congress of America
CPB - Confederation Panamerica of Billiards
EPBF - European Pocket Billiard Federation
OPBA - Oceania Pocket Billiard Association

Each continent have their own governing body. APBU is compose of Governing Congress or Association in Billiards/Pool Sports for each member country. APBU is compose of Qatar, Philippines, Thailand, India, Hong Kong, China, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Singapore, South Korea, Iran, Mongolia and Indonesia. There are still other countries who are members of APBU, but they may not have submitted their rankings or have no tournaments to rank players.

A quick search from Google gave me this APBU ranking list link submitted by the countries mentioned above.

You can find the full member list and each continents member countries from the WPA site above.
