Seems like this could be part of why Matchroom renamed the Asian Open to the Hanoi Open. Doesn't look like that name change offers Asian players any real protection though.

The WPA, and all its member federations, are having a pissing contest with Matchroom. They are threatening to ban any and all players who play in MR events from playing in WPA sanctioned events. Along with that, comes govt (taxpayer) money in certain countries for training purposes, medal rewards, etc. So if a player chooses to go the MR way, they would be giving up potentially a lot.I completely missed this and my google fu I hasn't been successful in figuring out what's going on here.
If it's possible, can somebody please give something like a three quick sentence synopsis of what's happening?
Mucho thanks.
I think if an Asian player plays in a USA hosted MR event, the Asian Federation will still ban them. IDK if that's how their constitution reads or not, just a hunch on my end. This ban is huge -means these Asian players will not be able to play in regional inter-country events like Asian Games, World Games, South East Asian Games where they get their association/govt rewards, reimbursement if they win medals. They will skip these MR Asian events and play in Europe/US events instead which means MR Asian events will ironically not have any Asians playing
Looks like MR webmaster forgot to change name in the url

Minus the near trillion dollar value of that deal. This looks just like PGA vs LIV and Trump to me

Can I have a 3 sentence summary of what happened to the PGA? I haven't watched golf closely since the Norman days, but always thought the PGA was unstoppable.Minus the near trillion dollar value of that deal.
The Saudis pumped a ton of money into a rival professional golf tour. There was different formatting, but the key thing that enticed other pga pros was I believe a bigger share of money and I think guaranteed money or something. The PGA tour tried to ban players, I think sue, and ultimately the two merged and dropped the court cases. Can I have a 3 sentence summary of what happened to the PGA?
