:)Hi all

I'm a new member here and i also new in pool game. I live in indonesia. i would like to ask to all cue maker here. I have a Jeff Olney maple cue, i want to clean it, I also want to change tip, make the tip (half moon), change the ferulle. What pool tool i have to use, porper tool, willard tool, or a small lathe. Can i change my ferulle by myself or it will efect the playability of my cue. And what is tappering mean? can someone explain to me.

Sorry, my english is not good. I hope someone know what i mean:o

You can change a tip by hand but not a ferrule. You need a lathe for that. If the shaft you have is valuable to you, I would take it to a professional. It shouldn't cost you more than 40 bucks depending on the material. If there is no one else in your area, send it back to Jeff. That is always your best bet. i

Thanks alot SK... But if i have to buy some pool tool, which one do i have to choose. Or maybe a small lathe for 500$ maybe. any one else opinion please. thanks a lot

You can order a lathe from Todd TSP&B here on AZ, or you can get a mini lathe for about $500. If you are doing tips by hand, get a porper mushroom grazer. Also, there are some tutorials here, just do a search. You might be able to find a used Hightower which is always a good choice. I don't know of the availability of lathes where you live, but if you can get your hands on a 7x10 I can help you with the setup. Just PM me.....
