This was being discussed in another thread, but it was off the subject of that thread so here we go. This also has been discussed in another thread specifically talking about the brake shot. I like to talk about a normal shot here.
I think what I'm looking to see here is more specifics. I decided to try to notice what I do last night at pool league. (4-0 by the way8>)
I'm mainly looking at the spot on the OB that I want the cue to hit during the aiming process. Then I'll yo yo back and forth between the OB and the cue a couple of times during the last couple of practice strokes. During my last backstroke I'm looking at the spot on the cue that I want to hit. I am looking at the OB when I strike the cue. So sometime between the end of my last backstroke and hitting the cue, my focus switches to the OB. I think it is very quick and before most of the forward stroke.
I just don't know if what I just wrote sounds very good to me? It almost sounds like I raise my head when I shoot and even if I'm not actually raising my head all the time, it certainly sounds it could lead to doing it by mistake from time to time. It in most cases is just an eye movement. In some cases I probably tilt my head back a little maybe. Don't know here. What ya think?
