For those of us that can't play every single day, it can be tough to stay in stroke. I'm sure there are some out there that have done other drills at home, including the famous bottle drill.
Well here's one that I have been doing, and it requires supplies that you probably already have.
- Blank white paper
- Sharpie marker
- Ruler
- A table of some sort that is around the height of a pool table. I use my kitchen table.
All you need to do is draw lines on the paper (as in the picture below). Please note that the dimensions in my picture aren't accurate, which is why you'll need a ruler.
1. Draw a line straight down the middle of the paper, length-wise.
2. A little ways from the bottom, draw a line that is 2.25" across (bottom yellow line)
3. 2.25" above that, draw another line across of the same width (top yellow line)
4. You want to make sure that the long line goes directly through the centers of lines 2 and 3.
5. Finally, you'll want to draw a line (or make a dot) above where the top yellow line is.
That top/red line is your finish spot. For me, it's 5" from the bottom line, but it might be different for you. The two yellow lines are to simulate the CB, which also gives you an imaginary target.
The last thing I want to mention is that there is no substitution for actually hitting balls.
