What's going on in Atlanta at Mr. Cue's II this weekend, June 9th or so? My friend tells me that they have changed all the cloth for an IPT qualifier, but I haven't heard any other news of this. Can someone confirm?;) Thanks.

Ah yes there is a Q'er scheduled and they did change the cloth, though not to the thicker type, there was an alternative choice. Stevie Moore did all the tables.

A perfect example of why pool will never get anywhere.

No one spreads the word. Everything is a big secret.

Jake,
The IPT has the qualifier schedule posted on their web site

I know. But someone went into Mr. Cues, saw the tables being worked on, and didn't have enough sense to ask someone there what is going on?

And all the talk going on here and the poster doesn't know what is going on?

Geeez - talk about some people having to be spoon fed.

You are right. It doesn't take all that much effort to find out things like this....at the same time, I'm surprised that Mr. Cues hasn't been promoting the daylights out of this event. The idea of getting spectators in to watch would certainly generate some extra business for them in food and drinks. Sometimes you have to hold peoples hand and tell them what to do. You can't just schedule something like this and hope people will turn out for it.

Offended

Hi. I am offended that people would call me an idiot for asking what was going on at Mr. Cue's II this weekend.

Tables getting recovered *isn't* a major event, requiring breathless inquiries to find out "what's going on".

Methinks you're drinking that IPT kool-aid again - thinking that anything to do with the IPT is earth-shatteringly important.

And I think you owe that fellow an apology.

Champions

My sources tell me that champions abound at Mr. Cue's II as we speak (or write), including Doug Young, Bruce, Cliff, y muchos mas. In addition to the IPT qualifier, there is much action.

Hey Chesscat, thanks for the scoop. I don't check IPT everyday, but I do check in here regularly. Me thinks me may make a Georgia trip to buy the wife some Lotto tickets (smile). Does anyone know offhand if Stevie Moore has qualified yet? If not, I see opportunity here....

Many of the tables need to be worked on badly. I saw Stevie working on a couple of them. He did alright for his first time working on one. (Or he told me it was his first one). If I saw all of the tables being worked on then I'd ask if they plan on closing the place down or something.

Which tables do they plan to qualify on?

Ok, now I see where they have been having minis to qualify for the qualifier since Monday and ending today. There are a lot of Atlanta players on this Forum. I do wonder why nobody thought to post this opportunity on the Tournament listings. Did I just miss it, or are we really trying to keep this opportunity some big secret? Most of us are no real threat to qualify, but we would have enjoyed a $40 mini lottery ticket. Too bad...

I have to agree with JJInfla on this one.

Oh yeah. I believe Stevie Did qualify. Tuesday I saw Johnny Archer and Stevie Moore do an exhibition match. I didn't see the end result because I had to play for league.

Stevie and Sam Monday won the two spots from the Raleigh qualifier held a couple of weeks ago (NA#2 on the IPT web site)

Bruce Berrong, Stevie's road partner, from Athens!

Is he going to play in the qualifier?
He is an old friend. I hope he does well if he gets in it.

If they have had qualifiers this week... do you know who has won those and what the $$ and format was?

thanks

There is no cash payout, and the format will stay the same for all the qualifiers. 8-ball race to 10. Top two finishers win entry into the tournament in Vegas.

Sorry i actually menat for the pre qualifiers that they were having. I found
that info on the Mr Cues II site. No winners listed however.

I have been trying to follow the qualifiers to see who gets in and who does not. I ahve thought that the IPTs coverage each weekend has been good. Some even had some pictures from the events.

Thanks for the info anyway
