Hello everyone!

I'm David Collier, Vice President of DIAMONDBACK TM Billiard Products. I decided to join this wonderful gathering of fellow pool & billiard enthusiasts discussion forum. We have also signed up with AZ Billiards to run thousands of banner ads that will start any day now. I have been reading hundreds of posts over the past week and thoroughly enjoy the history, the knowledge and experience of everyone contributing to AZ BILLIARDS. We consider AZBILLIARDS to be the CNN of pool. We will do everything we can to promote the game and the AZ site.

We are proud to be a part of the billiard community and we look forward to furthering the development of the sport and hope that one day we can have it as an event in the olympics.

Our big announcement is that the highly anticipated ATROX TOOL TM has arrived and is becoming available through many reputable dealers this week. As of Monday, 2-5-07 we are shipping scores of cases to dealers everyday.

I respectfully invite everyone to check out the ATROX TOOL TM on our website

http://www.killerstroke.com.tempwebsite.net/cartgenie/prodList.asp?scat=13
and see this awesome 10 in 1 tool. It is truly state of the art.

If anyone has any questions, I will be happy to answer them.

Thank you. David

That's an interesting product David. Some questions/comments:

1) Can the tip shaper inserts be removed/replaced? If not do you anticapate this will never be necessary in normal use?

2) Have you thought of using one of the flat outer faces for a tip-tapper section? I personally prefer to tap rather than pick my tips. (It seems less likely to damage them, especially if they laminated tips.)

3) What kind of "super magnet" are you using for the closing mechanism that requires such dire warnings? (Rare earth?) Have you considered using an intergral plastic clip molding to avoid crushing fingers or freaking out pace makers?

4) With the clamshell design perhaps with some expansion in the hinges you could have this double as a money clip, or alternatively you could build a clip into one of the outer surfaces.

Answer from David: It will not be necesarry to replace or remove the shapers. They are extremely durable, after throrough testing they are holding up beyond expectations. Just for giggles, we even shaped a FERRULE! And the shaper is fully intact.

2) Have you thought of using one of the flat outer faces for a tip-tapper section? I personally prefer to tap rather than pick my tips. (It seems less likely to damage them, especially if they laminated tips.)

Answer from David: We did at one point, however, to rough up the tip one can either use the steel fangs OR just tap the tip with dime side of the shaper cavity , or genty scuff the very top of the tip. Our R&D team addressed the tapper component and suggested that.

3) What kind of "super magnet" are you using for the closing mechanism that requires such dire warnings? (Rare earth?) Have you considered using an intergral plastic clip molding to avoid crushing fingers or freaking out pace makers?

Answer from David: Yes, they are rare earth. But they are just powerful enough to keep it closed. Its at about 1/2 pound holding tolerance. Which isnt much, but you never know, they COULD ( however unlikely) affect computer floppy disks, 8 track tapes (lol) and also we wanted to warn any poolplayers with pace makers using it. Mainly just don't put it into a shirt pocket while having a pace maker.
The clip was totally voted against by the team.

4) With the clamshell design perhaps with some expansion in the hinges you could have this double as a money clip, or alternatively you could build a clip into one of the outer surfaces.

Answer from David: That sounds intriguing but for now, after the money that as spent in development and mass production, will don't foresee any modifications at this time.

Not a comment on the tool, but may I suggest changing the black background on your web site to something a shade lighter. It's pretty difficult to see some of the darker images and text on the dark background.

I will note that and see. I think it may be because we only have LCD computer sreens here. It may not be bright enough for the regular monitors.

You know, thank you for that suggestion. I'll definitely pass that along.

Also, we did incorporate the shaft dent remover. We listened to the consumers of what they wanted to have in a super tool.

One person suggested that we try to incorporate a cue holder into it. We entertained the idea but it was not practical.

The "Strike Position" feature was researched over and over and we made it work.

Looks like a versatile piece of equipment. I might have to pick one up. Now if it washed my car too, I'd consider it the best thing in pool since the table.

Well there ya go! I'll have to go stop the production run immediately and order adaptable sponges for the underside maybe even have Larry design extra hollow tubing next to the fangs so where the soap can dispense like venom. Hey! Now I'm thinkin'! LOL

Alright. How about a FREE ATROX TOOL and a bottle of shaft cleaner to the first person who can tell me what Crotalus Atrox means AND tell me the meaning of ATROX. This will be the ONLY freebie we will give away.

Clock is ticking.
