The Imperial Palace sucks balls! Their rooms are just God awful. I would rather sleep in my car. :D

The only rooms that may be worse are the units from Circus Circus that are behind the childrens Adventure Dome. At least with those rooms you can bet on which roach is faster. lol

There is nothing in the VNEA charter that requires the charterholder/vendor to guarantee rooms at the host hotel. I played in VNEA for 10 years, and went to nationals every year. There were a few times that our charterholder got lazy, waited too long, and had to book rooms somewhere else...but it was always (allegedly) because the Riv was sold out.

Thee is probably a state or regional director for the VNEA that you could probably contact...but I doubt it will matter. AFAIK, the local guys can do just about anything they want to. All they really are responsible for it submitting the correct paperwork, to put the teams in the national tournament. Other things, like plane tickets and hotel rooms, are negotiable.

First tbayplayer, congratulations on your trip to Vegas. Secondly, and most importantly, don't let your accommodations and this situation ruin your trip. Have fun.

That being said, Mr. Lee is probably correct. I doubt your charter is legally responsible for anything but your registration. If I were you, I would calmly speak with you charter holder and try to come to a compromise. He or she is probably willing to work with you if they can and you ask nicely.

Before the next season starts, I would bring this up in the players meeting. There is only X amount of dollars available for travel and lodging. It might be suggested that this money is given directly to the team captain and accommodations are arranged by the team. Then they can decide where they want to stay.

jason...This is just what we did with our charterholder a few times...got the $$$ and made our own reservations.
