I think DogsPlayingPool and dkrager have the right idea. That's what I would test first and seems like the most logical. I walk around with it strapped diagonally when I walk for longer distances too so that I don't have to ever worry about readjusting the strap while I walk. It's rather comfortable IMO.
The problem with the wave case is that (unless you're abnormally tall) it will interfere with your helmet since you're going to be sitting and the bottom of the case would rest on the back of the seat behind you. That's a pretty serious safety concern if you ask me.
