Attending The Expo

I'm going to be attending the Expo the week after next, and am thinking of bringing along an old Ralph Greenleaf signatured cue stick I own. I'm somewhat leary though, and am wondering if it would be a mistake to try and sell it there. Are there vendors that will be buying items from the public. I have never been to one of these events before, and am not aware of what goes on at these venues. Or should I just leave the cue stick at home.

I have never even heard of one, can you post a picture?

If I'm not mistaken, the vendors can wheel & deal both buying & selling.... two guests cannot wheel & deal with each other.... it has to be done with vendors. If you were to sell it to a vendor, that would be ok but I "couldn't" buy it from you. If I'm wrong, there's a few people that post here that will know for sure and can correct me, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works. :)

Should be very easy to sell there. I have sold many cues there...

Vendors can buy from you. But be prepared to get kicked out if anyone reports that you are trying to sell your cue. Bring it by my booth L18 and let me look at it as I buy cues there.

Actually this is what I know.

The exhibitors are the only ones to wheel and deal. Dan Dishaw and his crew from the ACA watch so that people don't come in selling stuff. They feel since they pay this large amount for the booth, there should not be others who didn't pay wheeling and dealing.

Barbara, please correct me if I am wrong but don't they check people at the door if they have collectors cases and such?

If I were you, I would take a picture of this and post it in the For sale at SBE. You need to find out how much it's worth. I can show the picture to several people to get a good fair idea for you.

Just don't take the first offer and be careful..

Persons entering the Expo without an Exhibitor's badge cannot bring any case larger than a 3x6 configuration. Of course, the new Justis Pro-Lite series has to be taken in consideration.

I would like to thank all of you for your advice and comments. I would have responded sooner, but an unscheduled medical short procedure interrupted things. I tried to post some pictures of the cue, but they were too large, and I'm not capable of reducing them. My son is coming to visit this weekend, and he will make to photos capable of posting. And Eydie, thank you for offering to help identify the cue. I've had it since 1966, and it's in pretty fair shape. I have decided not to take it to the Expo, even though I only live 20 minutes away.I'm going to attend the Expo and watch some games, and not worry about misplacing the cue, and breaking my heart. I'm going to try to research it a little more, and hopefully find a collector who who want to add it to his collection, rather then to sell it to someone who would only unload it later.
Again, thanks for all the help.
