what does everyone think about the olhausen championship pro series tables? these are the ones you see on t.v.

i'm going to buy a table, and the offer i got yesterday was the table mentioned above, brand new, with a ball return, the light, simonis 860, the accessories of course and delivered and set up.........for 4400 total.

is this a good deal, and what do you guys think about the table itself?

thanks

It may be a fair deal but for an extra couple hundred bucks you could get a Brunswick, Diamond or Gabrial.

Can't say whether that's a good price, but it is a very good table. It was the table in use at the 2004 Women's Tournament of Champions last November at Mohegan Sun in Connecticutt and it played just about perfect.

i don't have room for one either.........i'm going to be renting the space for it :(

but it will still be cheaper than paying for the table time (i spend about 400 a month to play) and i can practice longer and not be interrupted like i get at the pool hall.

well i play at least 30 hours a week..............as of late i've been known to log over 50 hours a week including tourneys and gambling............there are specials here for table time, but that only accounts for about 20-25 hours..........so i still have to pay regular tme for the rest.........couple that with the food and drink.............not to mention when i'm trying to practice alone and i have someone come up and want to play(for free  ) or ask me something about their game or whatnot..........and i'm just better off getting a place for my own table............

the best part is...........no one around here has to know :D

where in the country does table time cost 1.50 and hour??? the cheapest around here for a good table is 4.00........but most places is in the upwards of almost 8-16 bucks an hour depending on where you go. this is richmond, as there are no decent halls where i live.

Tullahoma Tennessee. Although I do admit Nashville is like 10.00/hour. Tullahoma has 2 pool halls that I play at. One is 2.00/hour, the other is 1.50/hour. The 1.50/hour place has shitty slow cloth but nice Kasson tables. The 2.00 place has shitty cloth and shitty tables.

also.....i have another question...........

i'm going to have the table shimmed to where barely a two balls fit in the pocket, that way its tight enough, but no to tight as to where i can't practice cheating the pocket........

my question is, once i need new rails............can i have someone cut me custom rails so that i don't have to keep the shims and the pocket will react perfectly?

or should i just stick to shims as thats what most tables i will play on will have?

with an olhausen......you will never need new rails. since olhausen started useing acc-fast cushions in '96, they have never had a set go dead. hence the lifetime warrenty on the rubber. i sell that table without all the goodies you are getting for $5500.....so, that is a great deal
