Oh...I really don't care if you don't believe me ScottW. Johnnyt

Where'd that come from? I was just saying I didn't think they made tape recorders small enough back then. I wasn't calling you a liar. Sheesh.

we are losing freedoms here in the land of the free daily, when i'm in germany next time i'll tell you more, i like germany as much as america. both countrys are great.

I dont want my conversations recorded unless I know they are being recorded then i might say something different, its possible to catch a beef over gambling if they record them, of course we talk openly about gambling here, it just dosent set right with me. legal or illegal i dont like it

Speaking of that, when do you plan on coming back over?

We have videotaped and audiotaped in our pool room for 20 years. It is simply a tool to protect a business. I would say it has saved us from lawsuits and false accusations almost once a month. Pool players accuse others of stealing or keying a car. Employees steal. People commit crimes in your room against you are with another customer. Besides a bathroom there is no reasonable expectation of privacy in a public business. If you are on the parking lot having sex in your car..and we have a sign that says.."This lot videotaped 24 hours a day"..Expect no privacy. People come to our pool room...say they had thier car keyed or broken into and expect us to reimburse them. So we roll the videotape..find out they had their car keyed before they even got there. Press charges of filing a false police report. Problem solved. THIS IS NOT RARE! I have 12 videocameras, some with microphones, some with infra red, some with night vision. And I wish I had 12 more. Unfortunately this is the only tool to keep from getting robbed blind every single day. I catch a MINIMUM of 3 people a day..EVERY day, claiming they didnt play pool...trying to get it free. When informed they are videotaped and you are pressing charges..they change their attitude very quick to avoid going to jail. This is the daily headache of running a pool hall.

Every pool hall should have videotape and audiotape.

Less pool rooms would be going broke in the long run.

PS...I have never known a pool room owner to specifically use microphones just to listen to personal conversations.
#1. We all are working 70 hours a week and are too busy to care.
#2. Your conversations usually aren't very interesting to begin with.
#3. Your private conversation will be public gossip in 24 hours anyway.
