There are a number of good Auto Urethane's that do excellent work. DuPont, PPG and other specialty manufacturers. Be forewarned that the stuff can be deadly if not used properly. I use PPG Shop Line JC661 myself which is mid line in their finishes. There are better and there are worse but I've had absolutely no trouble in it's use. I put on and then rub out the next day but it can be rubbed out sooner.
As far as gun goes. Get a good one. They last and the superior finish it puts on is well worth the initial cost. Most use a gravity feed spot or jam gun as you usually only use small amounts of finish at a time so with this type gun there is little waste. I use a Sata mini jet 4 myself. Your nozzle size is completely dependant on the material you intend spraying, not the size of the gun. I would advise going to an automotive paint supply house and get recommendations from the counterman, who usually is fairly knowledgeable in this area and see what is available and popular in your area. Once you decide what material you intend to use then ask about what would be the best orifice size for that material. Try getting it right the first time as those orifices cost almost the same price as the whole gun.
