I just wanted to let you all know how much fun it is to meet and play other AZers. Last night, gwvavases, was in Virginia visiting his daughter and new twin grandaughters. He lives in Sacremento. He called about 4:30 and came over to my house to play a little. A little nine ball, one hole, and straight pool. I had a blast. I have had the pleasure of playing with Rude Dog and Frank Glen also. If you have a chance to meet and play other AZers, do it. There are a lot of very nice people posting here. I am hooking up with Bluekckid in Kansas on the week of the 23rd and Juris in November in Phoenix. My wife always gives me a load when I tell her I met someone on the net and they are comming over. Now that she has met a few, she understands. George, if you read this, you are welcome anytime. Rude Dog, I am comming for ya. BAZARUS, I wanted to play you real bad. Frank Glen, it was my pleasure. Thanks to all of you for making my world a little better.

Don -- I can't thank you and Susan enough for being such gracious hosts! I had a great time. That was the first time I ever played one-hole, and I might have found a new passion. I appreciated your patience in teaching me how to play it. And that game of straight pool is the first game of straight pool I've played in over 30 years. I'll hafta find someone out in Sacramento to play with now.

Susan's chile was great! And that cornbread! Mmmmmmmmm! Tell her that for me, okay? And, by the way, how did an old codger like yourself ever hook up with such a lovely, delightful lady?

Hey Purdy, you had your chance with me already and from what I saw, I don't want none. :D I might play you some opposite handed bank pool, race to 3 for a buck, put up 2 sets. :D All kidding aside, you and Susan are 2 very wonderful people and your advice to others on here about meeting other Azers is good advice. I'd like to meet everyone that supported me throughout the Open and if they're even half as cool as you, I'm sure I'll like em'. I hope I get the chance to see you when you're in Phoenix. Hey Purdy, let me know when your'e in Phoenix. I can steer you around some and show you where the action is. If you would like. Whats you're game? Are you a tournament player, gambler, or just looking for fun pool? If you need any help let me know.

Don (or any other AZers for that matter), if you're in Southern NH during the work week or on the South Shore of MA on the weekend send me a PM and I'll be glad to join you for a little play (but I don't gamble).

That's my little, or should I say BIG, secret. :rolleyes: Maw ain't gonna tell ya either. It's been 30 years and she hasn't even told her best friend. Says she won't advertise her man! I also know how lucky I am. Ya treat em like a queen and they will treat you like a king.

Tom Suarez (AZB handle Tom in Cincy) will play you some I imagine. You can find him at Hard Times in Sacramento. He and I used to spar regularly. He whooped me like a step-child :D

Breaknrun, I like one hole and straight pool. I don't like to gamble. Why? Check out my V-Dollars!!!! lol. I guess I would have to admit that I mostly play for fun. I love the game, not breaking someone. I could probably play for 5 or 10 big and still be secure financially. But why? I could take that and have a ball with my wife. Pay for a few vacations, help my son when he needs it or a friend in need. There are just to many other priorities to go pissing it off. I carry a wad of $2 bills. Ya want to gamble with me?
I would like to meet ya and play some. I will let ya know when I am in town.

I might just do that. I see Tom every Sunday at the Hard Times 9-ball tournaments he directs. Didn't know he played straight pool, tho.

I play in Sacramento at Diamond Billiards on Folsom Blvd in Rancho Cordova M - T - W - Th from 4:30 to 6:30. On Fridays, I play 1h at the Jointed Cue from 7 until 9:30. Anytime you want to play just holler. I'd be willing to visit your room too if you want. Let me know and we can get together. Tom from Cincy plays at Hardtimes and him and I have played a few times. He's a helluva nice guy and pretty good player too.

George, Mrs. P. sends her thank you for the kind words. Truth is, I was 25 and she was 19 when we met. Not quite kindergarden. I knew the moment I saw her that she was the one. I was a real nut, living in a school bus and driving a 73 Elderodo convertible down on the river bank in Harpers Ferry West Virginia. Been in love ever since. Thanks again and come back when you can.
