I rarely use forums for hosting pics (let alone galleries) since they (typically) end up crashing a server and all the pics are lost forever. Forum masters rarely backup data well.
I use a reliable hosting service to avoid these issues...the links are to an outside service and do not require maintenance upon restore of the forum.
