Apologies
Apologies to the members who were waiting for the other seminars. I had arranged a straight pool and a 9-ball seminar from 2 ultra-famous pro's, but had to cancel them after seeing the response to our first 2 seminars (where the presenter got side-tracked, and dragged into pointless debate by 2 attendees who were NOT even on our player/railbird list). I couldn't see at the time how to avoid further embarrassment, so just cancelled the appearances.
I should have expected it (since we are a community dedicated to discussing/bickering over endless minutiae; and dedicated to showing everyone what an expert WE are). If I had been thinking, I would have just announced at the beginning of each that these presentations were NOT for the advanced players, and that those people wishing to debate and argue the fine points should do it on the internet (that's what its for). Questions could have been entertained at THE END of the presentations (giving any pro who was hassled too badly the chance to just make an excuse and bail).
I'll owe you two seminars next year, but only if I can moderate them. My opinion is we should suck up to the pro's, so we can pick their brains more readily
. Behaving like gentlemen is not a bad idea either.
