Jude thread about APA and everyone joning in makes it seem like we are ground zero for starting a new league.

The AZBilliards pool league.

How do you imagine it running?

AZ users match up based on geography and then overlap our regionals or championship game with a major event.

Handicaps dont exist, if you want weight donations to AZ can be made.
The main goal is to support AZBilliards and develop the pool community through the internet.

We could even have filmed submissions for break and runs. Rights to the video remain to the players.

It's a nice concept, but geographical distances between players certainly presents a major logistical challenge. Also, you might have a tough time getting potential participants to agree on the game to be contested - 8-ball, 9-ball, one-pocket, 14.1 or a medley of all four disciplines?

I would strongly suggest doing it for bragging rights or some form of symbolic prize/trophy as opposed to monetary payouts. That way, the hustlers won't be tempted to crash the party, assuring that only those passionate players here who are able to play for the love of the game, will likely bother participating.

If it does become a reality, I'll gladly offer up our poolroom here in northwestern NC as a potential regional host site.

.

I think hustlers are wanted.

If "Daddy Warbucks" shows up and donates to AZ, forcing the match to be heavily weighted, the hustler might second guess his ability to win.

AZ is doing great, just thinking of ways to help them out. I see it as a bragging rights/AZ fundraiser.
