Ok kids, here's the scoop. For the room and two pool tables for Thur, Fri, & Sat the cost is going to be somewhere between $1300 to $1400. This is also nowhere near the Expo activities. This would be at the Radisson....as far as one can get from the activities and still be in the same (HUGE) bldg.

IMO, that's entirely too much. Consider the fact that we had a 9 ft table and our own room for 10 days at the DCC for $1000.

Earlier today I came up with another idea. The meet & greets at the bar are nice but the problem with these events are that some people won't be there on the day of the event. Soooooo, I thought why not have a DAILY meet & greet at the same time everyday? Say somewhere between 2 & 5pm???

I'm going to leave this decision up to you guys. If you want the room and don't mind the price, we'll do it. If you like the daily meet & greet, we can do that. Or, you guys are more than welcome to present other ideas.

Here's your chance to speak up.... let's hear what your thoughts are.

(special thanks to Eydie for making the calls today. You're the BEST.) ;)

I say the meet and greet but if I am overwhelmingly overrided I will gladly kick in.

Lets get the tables! What hours thurs, fri, sat, will the room be available to us?
We would need monitoring much like we had at the DCC. The available hours would depend on available room monitors and the times would change nightly.

You would really rather pay that much for 3 days worth? There's a lot going on at the Expo and people won't spend as much time in the room as they think they will. Also, there's a couple of pool rooms within driving distance of the Expo and according to someone that I talked to recently, one of them stays open 24 hrs during the Expo. I'm trying to look into this a little more.

FYI, the decision will not rest upon the outcome of the votes. The poll is strictly a guide. The decision will be based on the ideas coming from those that are actually going to the Expo.

I dont think its that much, theres a bar within walking distance . I was there last year on Sunday for a few hours, if I had a table to play on I would have been there all day, it is more fun than watching. Add up 3 or 4 trips to a pool room ,add a few drinks and some gas money, and for some of us a few bad rolls and it might work out to be the same. Does anyone agree?

Hi Timberly! I myself prefer the meet and greet only because there's so much to see and do at the expo, I always find it conflicting to settle down and do one thing. For me, the meet and greet would be more convenient. Just my 2 cents! Thanks again for doing what you're doing!

The room would not be available on Sunday. We were quoted for Thursday, Friday, & Saturday.

Because i will only be there one day, i prefer the meet and greet, but if you still decide to go with the room, i will kick in some $.

I am going to call the hotel and ask for a diagram of the room and it's exact location.

My personal feeling is that the room will be too far away, it's under the main ballroom and people will get lost and the room will sit empty because no body want's to be that far away.

I would perfer the meet and greet and possible a dinner if we can arrange that.

Bump back to the main page.

Thank you to those of you that have spoken up & said what you would like to do.

I need the rest of you guys that are going to VF to please speak up & let me know what you want to do. The choice will be made by Sun night so that we can start setting up the plans for whichever decision we make.

If the room were in a more convient location I say go for it. The $$$ aren't the issue, as somebody said it will sit empty most of the time because nobody will want to go find it. I'm not so sure how the meet and greet thing will work, but it's worth a shot.

Meet and Greet is nice; however, in my opinion, 2 to 5 could be a bit tough for those who have to work a booth or play matches.

Prefer the daily meet & greet, there's way to much that goes on at the Expo that I don't think many would spend much time in the room.

I prefer meet and greet....that hallway from the Radison to the event venue is too damned long to make the trek back and forth, plus there is SO much going on at SBE that I just don't see folks hanging around that far away.

For the money, the meet and greet would be good. But what am I saying. I'm stuck at the Tournament desk for the duration so feel free to come up and say hi!

You could also arrange a meet and greet at one of two pool rooms close to VF - Markley Billiards in Norristown or Rack M Up in Frazer, both less than 15 minutes away. Markley will probably be open 24 hours, and Rack M Up used to have a "Midnight Madness" tourney during the Expo.

Me too Eydie.
It's going to be a blast. I just can't believe I'm this pumped with 6 weeks to go. Let's hope I last.
