search google for AVG free and download their antivirus and antispyware programs. install them, update them. for win xp turn off system restore (open control panel open "system" and then "system restore" and check the box). then, while still in control panel, open "folder options" and make sure you check the option to view hidden files and folders. next run full scans. the spyware scan will take around 30 min and the virus scan will take longer. you'll be surprised at what you find lurking in your 'puter. delete what they find and reboot. you will then take the main thing that slows a computer down out of the equation. these programs are free and are some of the best available. your welcome.
