hi guys...

many of you might not have the time to check the other forums often, but in the main forum we have a thread about an Az'ers Thanksgiving/Christmas fund; thread:

if you have time, please read it. we are trying to help our sport and [for this year at least] helping our country's Boys & Girls Clubs [but maybe others too].

Many readers of the Main Forum are contributing to this. For the most part, we are a just a "rag-tag bunch" trying to get this started this year but hope this can be an ongoing venture for the value of giving and for our sport's future as well.

the reason i am writing this post really is because someone whom you all know, 'Dartman' who offered a wonderful contribution to this fund which made me realize how very important each of you and your involvement can be.

just breifly, we are trying to give Boys/Girls Clubs better tables to play on. YOU are the ones who can make this possible by helping the Boys/Girls Clubs having Quality Tables to play on for All of 'our children'.

so, i humbly ask, any of you, in All of our cities & towns across America that can give of your time to help in this effort would be a blessing to give for others.

if after reading the thread mentioned, you feel you would like to help, please do so.

if you already give of your time and expertise to 'our' Boys/Girls Clubs, please tell us about your experiences of giving. no need to give more.

and since i read this "Talk To A Mechanic" very often [because i know how important YOU are to this sport], it made me realize tonight how much you ALL can do for this fund for "our kids".

i do not usually ask for help from others, i just try and do what i can as best as i can. but i can't do what YOU do.

so i will ask you, if you can help, please help.

here is a small piece of info for ya. I have done this in Las Vegas when i lived there. Tell the B & G club to hold a tourny, if more then 1 in a town then the winners play each other. The club the winners belongs to gets a donated pool table from your business and Olhausen. When i did it in Vegas, it was a great time at the club, everyone there was so impressed with it. This is a great way to get involved in your community.

Hey Smokey. Just wanted to show you this table I set-up today in the rec-room at one of the local High Schools. It was donated by a customer of mine and I agreed to set it up for them for a reduced fee. It's a Sears table 8ft slate, the cushions played suprisingly well for what they were, I bought a piece of Mali spruce cloth from Dartman and had a great time setting it up and talking with the teachers.

It was a huge upgrade for them from the non-slate table they had. The cushions were rock hard and they were all loose so when you hit a ball into them with any force at all you either got a dead roll or they actually got stuck between the cushion and the bed, lol.

guess what...

i wish they gave a class on playing pool!

i would have never cut that class for sure!

I think the thread in the main section is getting good press and a few already posted there.
 
i want to give up...

it seems NONE of you care very much about "our kids" and pool's future, except mechanic/player and Dartman.

so... what can i conclude?

it is so sad to even think about.

just know, i will do as much as i can, by myself...

you should be ashamed.
