Cant help you. I have never send my cue for repair to anyone.

The only one I know is because he promotes on a dutch pool forum and because he is a known person in poolscene. http://www.penrosecues.com

I have no idea how good he is. I do know that in Holland we dont have such a "cuemaking scene" as you Americans got. Most of the players just buy a cue from one of the regular brands and may be changes shaft. But very few actually get it customized.

In Germany, the most famous ones are Arthur Cues, Vollmer Cues and Eurowest Cues (of all three I actually do not have adresses at hand, but google should help)
Less well known, but very high reputed by those who know them are i.e. Heiko Klosek in Hamburg, Peter Ernst in Essen, Cem in Munich, Sven Schmidt in Stuttgart (who made my cues), and a few others I guess...

One of the guys who can tell you all about these makers I guess would be a guy called cuechanger in the German billard forum www.billard-aktuell.de.
He works also with Doubledave who together own a billard store as I understood.
Maybe you just send him a private message. I am pretty sure he writes on here too, but I am not sure about his nick...

If you are still here around the 15th of Jan, you should visit Oberhausen... there is league play of the first devision of the German league...
For the Oberhausen Team play for exsample Oliver Ortmann and Nils Feijen...

Hi,

Send an email to info@doubledavecues.com and Markus will answer you.
His english is not perfect but I am sure you will be able to understand him.

Markus is not online here anymore because he now works for me and I
do the buying he does the selling.

Avathar mentioned most of the well known cuemakers but there are a few more,
Eurowest no longer makes cues though. For sure Germany is the country in Europe
that has the highest number of custom pool cuemakers.

If you prefer to make any appointments yourself:

- Vollmer cues
- Arthur cues
- Cem cues
- Ernst cues
- Hartmann cues
- Heino Klosek
- Oliver Stops

Are the ones I would write, be aware that some of them may not speak
any english but I cannot say for sure.

BTW, Lydon Holland do you mean Leiden? If you are looking for more wood
to buy there are 2 places in Holland I would suggest but only privately.

gr. Dave

Thank you Dave, I did not know the arrangements between you and Markus and if you would be posting here, thats why I directed to Markus...
I just forgot Franz Hauber near Schwäbisch Hall in the south of Germany...

Hi Mark,

sent you the Pm- and DoubleDave is the guy i recommended to you to contact :)

If you will find a way to meet up with him or even with his friend and partner Markus, you will be in best hands.
Great and easy to deal with- and tons of knowledge.
DoubleDavecues.com are really one of the best in Europe!

lg from overseas,

Ingo

eurowest isnt any more ;) but christian bocklage should be mentionned. dave and markus are the best for everything about cues in europe, but there is also a german guy collecting infos about german custom cues (german custom cue maker projekt) => http://cuetrader.wordpress.com/

about cue repairs, high end custom-made carom cue wood-jointed or schuler-jointed , there is Stany Buyle (the belgian cuemaker, dutch-speaking) . he lives in Gravelines, France. 20km from the border Belgium-France. His custom carom shafts are exceptionnal & he crafts pro-tapered pool shafts for either wood or shuler joints. inlayed (ebony) shafts avaible.

Not so far from Holland, and he knows the dutch resellers verrrrry well .
feel free to PM me if you need his phone number.
