Babe Ruth

Since Jason Shaw ran 714 balls in straightpool I've nicknamed him Babe Ruth because that's the number of home runs that Babe hit in his career.
When will we see the video?

As an aside, the movie about “The Babe” with John Goodman was one of the best telling of this guys life..
He lived BIG

BTW, what has become of the highly-touted, forever going, Straight Pool challenge in which Shaw made Quaalude?
I tried to post this question about a week ago and it did not show up.

Ruth held the record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched in the World Series for 43 years! He wasn't just a great hitter.

I think it was Orel Hersciser who ended up breaking that streak.

Guys like Ruth, and now Ohtani, who can be topnotch in 2 completely different aspects of a game are so rare. Stan Musial was also a pretty good pitcher early in his minor league career but threw his arm out (on an outfield throw ironically) and never pitched in the majors.

For a cuesport example of something along these lines we have Alfredo de Oro, who was a world champion in both 3C and 14.1.

Oddly enough, that was the year Ruth's record was beaten, also.
Not 1974 but 1961.
When did Maris hit 61 home runs?

1961

On October 1, 1961, in New York's final game of the regular season, Yankees slugger Roger Maris hits his 61st home run, becoming the first player in Major League Baseball to hit more than 60 in a season. He tops former Yankees great Babe Ruth, who hit 60 home runs in 1927.
And both Maris and Ruth did it without steroids, those are the real records.

Hank hit career number 715 in 1974.
