Just got this back from Richard a few weeks ago. Richard had refinished the cue but I sent it back to have him add a leather wrap and match a Predator blank to the cue. It is perfect now and his straight grain maple forearm cues play phenominal.

Ohh yeah Back in Black baby. Nice one. Love Richard's work. Congrats.

Your cue is lovely!

I bought a black recently myself but has yet to receive it. Seeing your cue makes me yearn for my even more.

I have a question though.

I have read some unpleasant things about Richard Black here awhile back. How was your experience with him? I was hopping to send his cue back to him for refinishing. But am not sure.

Turned out real nice. The wrap color is spot on perfect. Straight grain does have a really great hit.

i have had several dealing with richard as he lives about 20 minutes from me....richard is a great guy but must be treated with the respect that he has earned as a great cue maker...just be very humble and all will work out well...he is a living legend and should be treated that way...mickey carroll

He has refinished 2 for me and he is first class. His turn around time is amazing also. I think the last one he refinished was back in my hands within a few weeks. He told me on the phone that the cue should be back in the owners hands asap because we are his sales force. I had nothing but positive experiences with Richard and his cues are right up there near the top as far as playability.

I have not yet have a chance to deal with Richard. But I absolutely agrees that he is a Cuemaker in a class above most.

Too bad the market here seems to mostly be driven by hype and propaganda. His cue never seems to command the value that they deserve.
