Hey guys-
We'll I finally made it back from my business trip to Sacramento...man I hate hotels. Anyways I made it out to Hard Times Billiatds in Sacramento which was conveniently only 5 miles from my hotel. Very nice place with great equipment. Man am I jealous. A tourney room with raised seating...geez! 30+ 9 footers. Met up with SacTownTom and played him for about an hour. Great guy and shooter..just wish I had my cues to be able to play better. His Omen cue is very nice and has a sweet hit though.

Anyone ever been out there?

I don't know Tom..how'd we fair?

I missed some easy shots with the english difference from my cues. I had a few break and runs. He ran out when I missed. Triple shimmed pockets that two balls don't even fit in makes you have to be accurate. Started shooting well when I had to leave to go study. They were getting ready for a tourney also.

How do you guys travel with your cues? I mean I know that they can't be carried on, but what contraption do you have to make sure your stuff doesn't get damaged? Someone suggested putting it in the suitcase and carry along a POS soft case that can fold up for when you get to your destination.

Thanks for the kind words.

UW started out playing with my spare cue (Joss) and was playing good with that cue.. but when I let him hit with my Omen cue.. I just watched and racked..

Better than average player and we weren't keeping score. But, if I had to guess we played about even.. but I don't think that was fair, I have a sneaky feeling that if he had more playing time on the 9 footers and played with his own cue, I would have been doing a lot more racking.

Thanks UW for a great time..

Oh yes, I've been to Hardtimes. Nice room, nice equipment. The tournament room is well laid out both for players and for spectators.

Have yet to meet Sac Tom though.

It is nice. The only problem I have with that tournament room is that the spectators have to walk thru the playing area to get to the seating.

Hard Times in Bellfower has the best tournament room I have been to in a poolhall.

Yeah I guess I could see that as being a problem with the spectators.

But then again they could just open that back door and tell people to walk around to get consessions. Just cordon off an alley with ropes so people could walk through with their beers.
