Too long didn't read synopsis: Support local young players, and starting a vlog.
So recently after watching the final table of the world series of poker I kept hearing how instrumental johnny bax(Cliff Josephy) was in helping young players advance their careers. In fact, sitting at the same table is Gordon Vayo who was supported by cliff at a young age. Cliffs generosity certainly helped Gordon and the entire game.
Another example I have is my excellent young friend in California(No name so I don't knock his action :grin
. He's been improving tremendously, definitely on his way to the pro ranks and has been supported numerous times by a local in both action and other expenses. If it weren't for this local I'm not sure that my friend would have progressed so quickly or been able to have the same opportunities. We certainly need more guys like Cliff and the Mr. Local. Just like when alumni support their school programs or when pro athletes help out college teams with their knowledge. If you're successful and accomplished and you know of a young player, support them!
Now, I love pool. If It payed better I'd quit college and attempt to go pro. It's the only hobby I've ever had that I could do 10+hrs a day and did for a year when I first started. I still analyze at least 2hrs a day of matches and try to absorb the most knowledge I can. I take it as seriously as possible but just don't have the funds to travel to all the events in California, let alone the country. I'm thinking about starting a vlog about my progression as a player. Included would be my insights on mental game, my action and tournament play, position choices, maybe aiming problems or conclusions and of course the struggle of making money in pool. Does that sound interesting at all? I'm going to start it on youtube and update it here. The goal would be for it to resemble the poker player Andrew Neemes channel(definitely check it out) Any support would be amazing and of course support the kids in your local hall!!
