yes, it's true, i don't play much latley, once every two weeks or so, and yes, i'm playing weaker players in the apa, with the equalizer system, so i guess it evens itself out. the thing is acoustics. pool is a game that requires thought, concentration, the place where i play on the apa has no acoustic tileing what so ever! it's loud and obnoxious and echoy, why am i telling you? did i lose my match? no, i won. but my playing is slipping, why? the reasons i mentioned, but mainly, WHERE ARE THE QUIET SERIOUS POOL ROOMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! holy shit! if mosconi came back from the dead, he would ask someone to shoot him, so he could die again and have some dignity and peace! pool, deserves respect, and it should start with quiet library conditions.

Those places are gone Bernie.
Some separate the tournament room from the kids' room like Hard Times if you're lucky.
It sukks but welcome to the 21st century.
You can'e even finish a match anymore without your opponents' phone ringing.

@#$ %&#@ Child Care (Paul Newman in The Color of Money)

The local pool room where I go to practice is ridiculous. The only time the serious players can play each other or practice is in the morning till about 3:00pm. From then on, children and teens take over the place until at night, you can't even get a table for all the kids playing and goofing off. Sucks big time, but the owner says that that is the only way he makes any money.
